You're Broke But Beautiful
$0-$65
Okay, first and foremost, we need to remember that wedding gifts are meant to celebrate the couple — not leave you with debt. So if your budget is feeling tight, don’t over stretch yourself. Instead- give a wedding gift that makes financial sense for you and lean into the sentimental!
Low/ Zero-Cost Wedding Gift Ideas:
- Whatever is cheapest on the registry lol.
- Etsy!
- Buy disposable cameras & take pictures at the wedding & turn it into an album
- Donate to a charity in their name (it doesn’t say the amount hehe)
- Offer to make the cake, do hair and makeup, or manage the bride’s phone the day of. Basically, give a service instead of a gift.
Remember — Wedding gifts are meant to celebrate the couple- not leave you with credit card bills and stress. Whatever you can do, it will be loved and appreciated by the couple.
Attending multiple events? I love following the 20-20-60 rule.
Start by creating an overall gift budget to celebrate the wedded couple to be. I’ll start with $200 as an example. Sixty percent of that budget ($120) should be reserved for the wedding gift, twenty percent ($40) should be reserved for the engagement party, and the other twenty percent ($40), for the shower. If you are only invited to one pre-wedding event, divide that extra twenty percent between the shower ($50) and the wedding ($130).
